PENESTIN AND SURROUNDING
to discover during your holidays! Wherever you are in Penestin you'll have access to lots of pleasures : superb bathing and every kind of watersports!
- The famous site of the beach of La Mine d'Or (5 minutes from the campsite) with its cliffs of the most extraordinary colours, ranging from yellow to red-ochre, boasts a geological section that is unique in Europe. Discover it yourself by foot, or why not, by paraglider?
- The little harbour of Tréhiguier, whose speciality is farming mussels, has barely changed since the beginning of the last century. Here, you can visit the "Maison de la Mytiliculture": a small museum installed in a former lighthouse, where you can learn about the production of mussels. This Penestin speciality involves around fifty businesses.
The mussel beds – veritable fields of stakes driven into the ground – can be seen at low tide.
- Beaches towards the river la Vilaine : beach of "le Logo", beach of "Branzais", beach of "le Halguen" (ideal for fishing shells, quiet beach)
- Beaches towards the Atlantic Ocean : Beach of La Source (a safe beach to bathe with children), beach of Poudrantais (Nautical center, offers a magnificent view on the cliffs of Mine d' Or, access for disabled persons), beach of Maresclé (beautiful and quiet beach), beach of Loscolo (This beach offers an unspoilt view on the Island of Beschet, in July and August tournaments of beach volleyball and beach soccer are organized here).
- Towards the rocky coast : La Pointe du Bile
- Beach of Palandrin and the Bay of Pont Mahé are spots renowned for windsurfing and kite surfing. These fine sand beaches benefit from a flat bottom on a long distance. Shallow, the water is warmer and more secure for bathing!
